Incredible potential but still a work in progress. The game is something completely new unlike anything I've played before. It is one of the few horror games to genuinely build tension and deliver scares and the mechanics can force players into tense decisions about whether it is worth the risk to return to the house to find that last piece of evidence or if your sanity is so low you might be attacked the second you set foot in the door.
The evidence gathering manages to be fun while still being similar from round to round and each mechanic does a good job of immersing the player in the game. At first nothing is creepier than getting a ghost to respond to you on spirit box saying he is right behind you.
However the imersion of the gameplay begins to wane after the first few levels acheived and the once imposing ghosts become more of a nuisance than a threat barring RNG giving you the 1 in 12 chance of picking the most dangerous ghost type. I hope more work can be done on this game to preserve the experience I had on my first hunt as a greenhorn ghost hunter unsure if any second an otherworldly being could end my existence. Perhaps more varied goals or unpredictable hunting behavior would force methodical veteran hunters to take risks or face the uncertainty that terrifies you when first playing this game.
