Ok... let's start with the good things first~
There are multiple elements I can applaud this production for:
The casting of this drama was amazing- the emotion, the character, the personality, and the vibe of each individual were portrayed very well. I applaud the actors for that! (and obviously, their visuals were a 10/10)
The idea and creativity of the plot blew me away! It was nice to have some acknowledgment of how cliche some romance novels are and joke about it here and there. The interesting suspense kept me on the edge of my seat, and it was hard to predict how the story would unfold because it was just so unique.
The aesthetics: SO BEAUTIFUL. The lighting, the flowers, and the way the sunlight shines off of Haru's face. WOW
I have watched many dramas in the past, so my standards are quite high.
Although this drama was entertaining, it was definitely not the best.
I have a couple of complaints:
This drama really could have been condensed into half of the time length that it is- maybe 8 or 10 episodes. The lines of the characters got extremely repetitive. Kyung kept telling Haru that he was meant to be with Dan Oh, Haru kept saying that his fate is Dan Oh, etc. They kept adding random fillers of them saying the same thing over and over, and it got boring at times.
*note: some spoilers*
Some of the characters themselves were hard to see through.
Dan Oh: Her acting was really good, but tbh she kept acting immaturely that it was hard to take her seriously, especially since she was trying to do something as serious as changing her fate by altering the story.
Kyung: It was hard to know whether he started liking Dan Oh because he actually had sentimental feelings for her, or because he didn't want the only person who liked her to leave him like everyone else and she symbolized his ego
Juda: By the end of the story, there was something off about her. Who did she really like? Nam Ju or Do Hwa? She said that she wishes for half the week, she could date Nam Ju, and the other half, Do Hwa... does she actually like Nam Ju or the fact that he makes her a more important character than everyone else? I didn't know whether to like her self-aware side or not.
Dried Squid: He seemed pretty sus throughout the show, so I didn't know whether or not to like him. By the end, I began to like him because I realized that before he was only trying to protect Haru from making the same mistake he made, but it came off as more hostile. idk
Ok, so basically, this drama would have been very very good instead of just good if it had been more concise, and the motives of the characters had been clearer.
That's my take on it... I enjoyed watching the drama but I would not watch it again.
