For those who liked this work, I would recommend that you try to read the book it was adapted from- Les Misérables. It is much more elaborate and the characters may differ, but the essence of the story is maintained. The convict is a main character in the novel and goes by the name Jean Valjean and the Bishop in the book may be more admirable than in the play. The same theme, that is the transformation a person goes through when a little kindness is shown to him, comes again in the story The Rattrap, with a slightly humorous edge. That's class 12 syllabus but likeable nonetheless.
