This may be a true story, but the film is way too long, and way too pointless. Franz felt a moral imperative to reject a loyalty oath to Hitler, but he didn't feel a moral imperative to save his life so that he could support his wife and help her raise their three young daughters? Giving up his life for his ethics helped no one, saved no one. I thought this redundant, slow-moving film would never end! The only thing worth seeing was the lovely Austrian countryside.
