I look forward each Sunday to tuning in to Jane Pauley and CBS Sunday morning, but was disappointed in her feature on Girls' State which never once mentioned the American Legion Auxiliary as the GS sponsor. Each American Legion Auxiliary unit across the U.S. financially sponsors selected girls to attend a week at their state's Girls' State, where delegates may then choose to run for Governor of their state in a program designed to acquaint and engage young ladies in political action. Jane might have even acknowledged her own ALA unit that sponsored her 50 plus years ago in her bid for Hoosier Girls'State governor and which provided here with the vital experiences she touted as beneficial in this morning's feature.
