Might be a good album, but the Cat Powers cover of the 1966 Dylan performance is one of the biggest disappointments I recall. Aside from beginning her set 45 minutes late, what was the point? Lackluster guitar support (first half of show), and mere vocal atmospherics of the Dylan masterpieces. I hoped to see a show with a command of the material and confidence on the stage. Not tonight. If a performer can’t make use of Visions of Johanna, Desolation Row, and Mr. Tambourine Man, maybe it’s time to roll it up and select other material. The electric set rocked, but the less than stellar mood had already been set. (Seattle, March 13, Moore Theatre).
