It’s not the script that’s important…It’s the message. Our planet is well on the way to a slowly increasing burn, and dialog between China/Russia/India/United States can’t get beyond self-serving interests. So, it would take a full scale nuclear war or a significant asteroid strike to both cool the planet and significantly reduce the human population. Our species just isn’t smart enough to change the trajectory.
