This movie is golden. Nothing can compare CLOSELY to the feelings I feel while watching this. First, the characters are amazing. Miles is relatable, funny, and we really connect with him as the story goes forward. Peter B. Parker is the perfect character for Miles, though we don’t see it at first. Gwen is also very relatable and the perfect friend for Miles, in the theatre I could feel the chemistry through the screen. The other Spider-Men are very funny and they all serve a purpose in the movie for Miles. In the beginning, we spend the first 25-30 minutes getting to know Miles and see what kind of kid he is without being Spider-Man. I personally love the connection with his Uncle Aaron compared to his parents, one being tight and close-knit, the other strained and breaking because of the view points differing between Miles and his Dad. When he starts his new school, he is immediately met with struggles and hardship, the expectations crushing him day by day. He goes to his Uncle Aaron’s apartment to clear his mind, showing how close they are. Miles then gets bit by the spider and see Gwen Stacy, who immediately knows what happened. When Mile’s fingers latch onto her hair, she says to stay calm, which she obviously knows because she is a Spider-Person. Spider-Man shenanigans persue. I really wanna talk about the “Leap of Faith” scene. After his talk with his dad about Uncle Aaron dying, he finally is able to channel his spider powers. Like before, he goes to a tall building, his feet shuffling against the glass. He breathes, then jumps, the glass shattering as he pulls against it. It shows how scared he is. He couldn’t calm himself, but he jumps anyway, his leap of faith. He falls down the building, the music swelling as he soars down the building. He shoots his webshooters, swinging across the city. I love this movie with my whole heart. 100/10
