I think that Hopkins and Thompson performances were among the best that I have ever seen on the screen. There was so much in that film about class. politics, and foreshadow leading up to WW II, and it's aftermath. I thought of Thompson, because she is in the news, due to rehearsals that she is doing nude, at the age of 62. She is the most dedicated of actresses. My post has little to do sexuality, from my perspective. However, I thought that the scene in which the character that Thompson portrayed, tries to seduce the Hopkin's character, to be very erotic. I welcome commentary in good taste.

We will see it today. The period was very meaningful to me, I tried to volunteer for combat in the IDF. the Israelis would not take me. because my knowledge of history was too limited. I presume they thought that I could not take orders properly. I remember that those days as extraordinarily frightening for many Jews and millions of others, who understood that the Israelis might have had to use nuclear weapons, on what was then the United Arab Republic of Syria and Egypt. So much of our foreign policy today revolves around those events. On another less important topic, Helen Mirren is one of the great actresses working today. She had to worked very hard to get in to Golda Meir's head. I believe that at some point she acted as the late Queen Elizabeth II, in a most memorable role. ( I may be mixing up with another actress)
