I loved the original Willow as a kid. It was a fun fantasy in a unique world that touched the tropes but didn’t take itself too seriously. This show takes that world and style, adds a touch of whimsy and some modern flair. Is it a little kitschy? Sure. Cheesy? Of course. That’s what makes it fun.
It’s like if the Evil Dead franchise had a love child with Lord of the Rings and then that kid went on a D&D quest.
If you’re a fan of tongue in cheek fantasy, watch it. But realize that it’s a bit slow in the beginning, but by the end, you’re laughing and crying with the characters.
