Ghostbusters Afterlife was a kick of nostalgia mixed with a breath of fresh air. I get that it was packed with fanfare but frankly I loved most of it! Sure a few scenes fell a little flat but the overall tone and mix of horror and comedy was well handled. The ghosts were some of my favorite in the series and I was glad that the horrible bipedal terror dog from the Ghostbusters Plasma action figure line was not the big bad! Phoebe and Podcast were a great pair, I wish Trevor (Finn Wolfhard's character) had more involvement with them in the beginning but it makes sense that a teenager wouldn't want to hang out with his kid sister. The movie is good for parents and kids as there is humor for both groups! If you are a GB fan there is no reason not to give this one a chance. Who you gonna call?

This Resident Evil reboot hits all the right notes for me as a fan of the video game series. I love the atmosphere and ghost town feel of Raccoon City, it emulates the feeling of isolation that the first and second games captured. Welcome to Raccoon City keeps itself more grounded than the previous RE films, only having hints of over the top action and leaning more on jump scares and character development. The series needed this turn in mood after the Anderson films much like the games needed to return to the survival horror aspect that was lost after RE 5 and 6. The characters were all well portrayed and the only one I had issues with was Leon as I felt they didn't get his character right.. Would definitely love to see this universe expanded upon with sequels!
