Sawyer Goddard

This movie is unique. It isn't fast paced, full of jump scares, loud and or overly violent. It is a slow burn, quiet, poetic and has to be truly understood to be enjoyable. It's almost peaceful despite the tragic events taken place in the house, it's visually interesting and the way the characters talk either to each other or the audience is so pleasing and calming. While it's not really *scary* like other horror/thriller movies, I appreciate the poetic take much more. It is simple and yet so lovely.

Already I have a fear of being watched without knowing and of course having my house being broken into, so this was horrifying to watch. The plot is unique and with the "found footage" style, makes it feel real. I don't know about others but I really enjoyed it, I am obsessed with horror movies and I'm so glad I could find one that's new and admittedly terrifying to think about ever being in the same situation as Emma-- also for those complaining it's "boring", that the ending has no explanation or doesn't make sense. That's what makes it realistic, in true crimes there is only so much we can collect from the situation. Of course it isn't a slasher film with blood, gore and a simple explanation, it's all seen from the view of the cameras in Emma's devices so we don't get the thorough and simple explanation like in movies filmed normally.

The storyline is poor, and the special effects aren't the best. Along with that the acting isn't convincing. And I found it very slow paced and hearing the girl's constantly crying and screaming annoyed me. Maybe you'd watch it if you were that desperate for a shark horror film. But thats just my opinion
