Utterly boring, no plot, no character development, no drama, no stakes, no tension. And for some reason, the director thought it was important to show the viewer two - not one but two- scenes of Fern going tot he toilet! How this mindless fluff won Best Picture is beyond belief.

Boring and inconsequential, the storyline drags, the characters behave in ridiculous ways and the resolution of the romantic tension between the two main characters is ludicrous. Attempts at symbolism, such as the bolting horse, are pretentious and ineffective, and fail to enrich the story.

Boring, lacking a story or substance, forgettable.
