They managed to dumb down the dialogue for some strange reason. Seriously I really want an explanation for this. Who says audiences don't want hard science fiction with the dialogue to match?! Take the scene about the human computers. Oh boy, in the book, the dialogue there leaves you pondering about the nature of consciousness. If we were to emulate the neural transmission of signals in the brain, if we were to recreate the architecture of the brain the way they did with human soldiers passing signals using flags, would that system be conscious? Is consciousness entirely functional so that any information processing system (such as soldiers with flags) can replicate it. This is what we had in the book. Instead we got 30 seconds of two guys screaming senseless profanities. I don't know, this show had potential but for some reason they took deliberate steps to dumb it down. For who?
