Honest truth? Some of the supporting actors in this aren’t amazing, but you do still learn to care for them. The dialog at times can be very...90’s. But doesn’t take away from some really interesting characters and a heralding tale of Asian American immigrants and some of the unfortunate street crime from that time period. Overdramatized for sure, but reflecting a fear a lot of people felt. Jackie Chan does a great job here, his performance feels genuine and very charismatic. The fight scenes are fast paced and sometimes just make you wonder how they even choreographed them. Overall, this is a classic for a reason, it’s just a great film and one that played the ground work for an entire genre of Kung Fu action movies.
