People who gave this movie ONE STAR are completely delusional and they missed the point of the movie.
This story is about how veterans…..human and canine…….seek to deal with the aftermath of war……..PTSD, anxiety, being trained for a job and doing it well…..so well that when they come home, there is no place for them….. they can’t escape the memories of war. The movie shows how they manage to live and deal with the consequences…or not. Though there are several humorous moments ….there are NO bad words, as was falsely reported by one reviewer. Someone gave the ‘finger’ on three occasions and they find a pot farmer in one scene. It’s not a movie for children, however.
It IS a movie that echoes the dedication of our armed forces, and that speaks to personal loss…..family, friends and health, but provides a picture of perseverance and fulfillment of a promise…. and shines a message of hope and joy like a beacon in the night.
I will watch this again and again. Oh and I don’t mind providing a spoiler…..the dog does NOT die. I am still recovering from Big Jake.
