I was looking forward to this show, as a diehard *Daredevil* TV fan and because of the truly stellar cast (Zahn McClarnon, Graham Greene, the whole crew from the brilliant *Reservation Dogs*…). What a waste.
They squandered a fantastic premise, a great opportunity to write an in-depth story about a fascinating and unique character, and tried to copy what Marvel Television did with their Netflix shows, and churned out a bland, soulless and unfocused story with no heart, a bunch of fake CGI (for things like a truck running off a road), and a complete lack of realism, despite the clear effort to inject blood and guts.
They threw away the whole first episode by literally repeating the same footage we already saw in *Hawkeye*, and jammed in what should have been a slow-burn, character-driven story into five episodes. The lack of respect for the audiences’ intelligence and standards is the final nail in the coffin of Marvel Studios, for me.
*Daredevil* is my favorite show of all time. No way am I watching them butcher it further.
