When you look back on history....some must critique it by the standard of today; In my day...we did not have trash we recycled. things like milk....fresh milk was delivered and the empty bottles picked up for recycling. We grew our own vegetables and the waste was use as compost. Never had a trash pick up. Our kids played outdoors for hours...running and playing. The air and water were pure and clean. Sure some of our diets were strictly meat and potatoes...but we walked, and exercised. Jim Kirk character was a reflection of the time Unfortunately, their are still some men are caught in that time warp today. Just check the latest headlines. Don't fault Jim Kirk...he will be the same in every Star Trek episode...he is who he is.
