While this movie had a good story line and many positive aspects, there is one aspect that, as a parent of a young adult with Down Syndrome, I find very sad. I feel that the things some of the actors were required to say violated their innocence. It is not necessary or wise to try to make them into the average teenager or young adult. They all have a beauty just the way they are and it is displayed in the way they see other people, situations and the world in general. When you cast them into a role with smutty language and verbiage that is unnatural for them, it casts a damaging shadow on who they really are. Just as we protect the innocence of young children we should be doing the same for them.
