This new Australian version seems sterile and low-key compared to other international versions ive watched. The format, copious chit chat and lack of pizazz dont allow it to take off the ground. I stopped watching it half way through.

I love the concept of an episode series vs the serialised series that have taken over the franchise. However, the episodes so far lack adventure and are actually quite boring. The potential exists for this to have become something great. Unfortunately its very lack luster. The cast and special effects are great, as are the sets and this series version of the enterprise.

Ive only started watching this show in the past year. Im unsure how it compares to older episodes from back in the day. However im bothered by the fact that they rarely travel past NSW and seem to only recognise QLD as far up as Brisbane. Also, too much emphasis on aboriginal recognition. It becomes overkill eventually. Watching Costas wild hair and unkempt beard makes me itchy.
