We were very excited to find this series we could watch as a family. Unfortunately, not too far into it did we find that there were racial tones and the world was against blacks and will be against them their entire lives. Why? Why show a white male not trusting a black kid? Why show a black woman telling another black woman to tell her son it's time to let him know how the world is against blacks? Why have that mother tell her son how it will be for him for the rest of his life being black? I am a caucasian female. Do I think people are treated differently because of color? Sometimes, yes. But, I have been discriminated against by blacks for being white. I have been discriminated for being a female and a natural blonde at that. I have been bullied my entire childhood from the shoes I wore, lack of money I had, and the way I looked. Pushed and shoved by kids. I refused to be a victim and not place blame on a certain race or gender. I placed blame on the ignorance and raised above it. I'm tired of the media labeling every story as a "white" man or "black" man. Why can't it just say "a man or woman?" I have amazing black friends that I am proud to call them friends and I would do anything for them. We are respectful and kind to each other. Why not show that in this series instead!
