I am a person that grew up playing Halo games. I stopped when 343 took over from Bungie but I feel I still have a pretty solid understanding of the Halo universe when it was at its peak. All the negativity I've heard about this series before actually watching it myself revolved around the show not being a retelling of the original Halo games and Master Chief being poorly written. However, I went into this show anticipating a retelling of the Halo story and I think this show does a great job of doing just that. It's sad that all the Halo purists are casting so much hate towards a show that is actually very well done. The reason I am giving 4 instead of 5 stars is simply because some of the CGI is noticable which if we'll done you should not be able to tell CGI is present within a movie. Otherwise I found this to be a great show for the more open minded Halo fans that are looking to enjoy another facet of the Halo universe and not just wanting another retelling of the same Halo story.
