This may seem like a unpopular opinion but I won’t lie: one of the worst films I’ve seen in a while, and my least favourite of 2023. I just felt like it lacked any direction or any meaning, things just kind of “happened” with very surface level explanations. Key points in the film were executed in a very bland way and I didn’t find it funny at any point. Just to clarify I am a grown man, and likely I’m not the target audience, but I’d heard a lot of chatter about it (comparing it to Oppenheimer and what not) and thought there might be at least something for all audiences (thinking Shrek as an example) but I didn’t enjoy it at all. I was told there were a lot of clever references throughout, but since when is a film more about references than actual content ? I gave it two stars because I thought the actors did a good job and the billie song is great but everything else was lacking imo
