This movie was not appropriate for children and had a lot of serious issues. For example, the movie glorified deception and independence in young children who are still learning and developing and do not have the mental or physical ability to be fully independent and rational. The main character did not face any consequences for their actions which included lying and sneaking out. This was marketed as a children’s movie but it talked about menstrual cycles and sexual arousal which are sensitive subjects that should only be talked about and approached by parents/guardians or reliable and medical sources. Another thing this movie does is paint a picture that girls are superior to boys which is absurd. If this movie was trying to push feminism (which it shouldn’t even be doing in a kids movie) then it went about it all wrong. Men should not be villainized just as women should not be underestimated. Overall, this movie pretty disrespectful and dealt with important issues in a thoughtless way. I know some people who are canceling their Disney+ subscriptions because they do not want to support politics in children’s movies.
