It's an outstanding film.. Adapted from Amrita Pritam's novel Pinjar.. Set in the period of partition of India.. It tells a heart wrenching tale of a woman who is a victim of circumstances. Actors have done a tremendous job... Its a must watch❤️

A amazing film which makes one think .Told from a female perpective its about the ordreal women have to own their sexuality and their freedom.On one side is a widow called buaji who is shamed for pursuing her sexual desires while on te other hand is Shirin..the obedient Indian wife who is treated as a sex object even depriving her of her right to speak and even to be heard.Each of these women seek to break free from this cage the society has put them in.
