I would've given this show I higher rating but I am REALLY not liking how the writers and characters themselves are handling alcoholism and addiction, Victor is STILL as selfish and unreasonable as ever when handling Nikki's sobriety and her alcoholism, as well as the people affected with alcoholism and addiction, or who have been. As reassuring and loving as he approaches the situation, his overall view on the matter is disgusting, as a person who has had family members who struggle with alcoholism and have lost the war to it, it leaves a pit in my stomach every time I see a Newman who doesn't understand the process voice their "opinions". Especially with Victor and Victoria, Victor on how he tosses ppl aside and see's them as less than or incapable once they've screwed up. Like with Seth, the poor man fell off and Victor is treating him like a no count bum, who isn't capable of doing anything right while verbally berating and shaming him, all because he wasn't there for "his baby"! I saw today's episode and Victoria is doing the same, granted there is a nefarious plot which Seth is being USED, but my god!! Then Victor wants to act like a dictator and pound his fist to gain control over a delicate situation that he's not experiencing PERSONALLY, Idk how many ppl have to tell him that it's not about him, it's about Nikki and her recovery. Then he's threatening Jack if he fails to be Nikki's sponsor, and the only REAL reason why he made that threat is so he can say 'I told you so' to his wife face, just like he keeps throwing Seth in Nikki's face, because he failed. Oh, and don't get me started on the vacuous decision to make Jack Nikki's sponsor, simply because of trust! Alcoholism and Opioid addiction are two entirely different things, one of the only things they have in common is that they are both an addiction. The BIGGEST difference in all of this is that Jack HAS NOT had as many bouts with his sobriety as oppose to Nikki, so I don't know how Jack would be able to be a sponsor on a level that is as high as Nikki, she is SURROUNDED by alcohol as oppose to opioids for Jack! Finally... The only people who are having a much better understanding and healthy approach to Nikki's sobriety is Nikki, Lauren, and Jack. I don't see how the Newman's--Nikki's own family after dealing with her breaking her sobriety time and time again, STILL doesn't understand how to support nor approach her sobriety.

This show has become boring and stale with lobotomite characters and writing, to keep it simple with this review, don't even bother watching, better yet, just take a break from it until they either bring back old characters or bring in a sizeable amount of new ones.
