About 4 hours in, will update if I feel different later on. It’s an above average game. Basically The Division 2 with a sprinkle of Destiny. The loot and game system overall functions like Diablo 2 (loot and endgame). One example is in D2, if I join my friends’ game I’m at their progress, same deal here. Think the endgame is like D2/D3 where you re run everything but on a higher difficulty which is ok. I would prefer if there was more variety for endgame but whatevs.

D2 for its time was amazing, one of the GOAT of games. I am having a decent time with D2R but going back 20 years to play a game with 1999 mechanics and coding is tough at times, the AI are stupid, skeletons and mercenaries stand around, get stuck at walls, dont follow you as quickly as they should, etc. Stuff like stamina and missing alot of your attacks just feel really outdated. I understand it's meant to be a faithful remaster but I just wish they would have made improvements to the AI intelligence, added more game modes (capture the flag, battle royale, etc.), possibly even a new goofy act 6 that doesn't change the lore or whatever (maybe expanded cow level/world that is not canon). Maybe this game just isn't for me and that's ok, this might be a good reminder/lesson in life is to always look forward to the future more than looking back at the past.

I want this game to be successfully really badly. Who doesn’t love the Avengers? Also it’s a cool concept for this game to be a live service but it released too soon and a lot of issues, even 7 months later. You fight Abomination and Taskmaster as dailies over and over and the same robots over and over. Also no gear is worth grinding for to make your heroes unique like Diablo 2-style and there’s basically no endgame (no PvP, no meaningful glamour and no difficult dungeon/raids, no crossplay). It’ll probably be 2 years before this game is where I want it to be if Square Enix doesn’t pull the plug by then.
