Oh boy…I cried like a baby by the time this short film was done. School shootings are a really deep fear of mine (which was made worse by a traumatic lockdown drill my school conducted) And you never really know when is the last time you will see a loved one. The moment I heard the gunshots and the screams in that scene I felt my heart drop to the pit of my stomach and when I saw the text message ‘If anything happens I love you’, thats when tears started flowing.The way they told such a tragic tale with no words spoken at all on such an intimate and deep level amazes me. I loved the idea of using the shadows and the little girl trying to bring her parents together really choked me up. While this film was beautiful and heartbreaking and just incredible all at once, it’s sad that we have to make films touching on a subject that shouldn’t even exist. School should be a safe place to learn and make friends, you shouldn’t have to fear for your life and maybe even fight for your life. Anyway 100/10 from me 😭
