Computer-generated flying combined with a computer-generated script make this film a parody of the events and of the flying movies to which it e.g. Top Gun. The worst movie I've seen since Without Remorse.

I'm not sure if I should credit myself with perserverence or stupidity for watching this movie to the 80% point. Perhaps I was just too hopeful that it might turn out less ridiculous than it had been to that point. If you're a fan of broken down SEALs surviving an ocean plane crash, getting to shore in Murmansk, killing a bunch of Russians in a suburban apartment block, and getting home safe then you'll love it. Otherwise, you've surely better things to do.

Nerve-raking tense, and believable. A really good contemporary account of how life can tangle itself up. And what seemed like a predictable ending wasn't so at all - the voids were great.

Think of all of the drawn-out moments of The Vikings series pulled together into 3 hours of torturous meaningless meandering. The Shogunate sets and wardrobe were great. Pity they weren't used in an engaging film. Apart from being laborious the bigoted depiction of the Japanese - both positive and negative - is on the same level as the bigoted Christians who came to save their souls. Perhaps that's the point?
