Andrew Scott is fantastic in this show, and the director behind this is a genius. Scotts portrayal is very well played out, the calmness, that often blunted affect, and the frustration evident on his face when things just don't work out (like in the first episode when he's trying to cash checks in New York).
I hope they're going to do another series. I am guilty in that i've never read the book, but if it's anything like the tv show it must be fantastic. I loved the creepiness of the original movie but this just goes to another level.
A highlight was when my young daughter asked me "why's it all grey?" and it dawned on me that my kids have never watched black and white tv, and it wasn't all that long ago that it was a thing. This was a great use of that artistic method.... the blood seems very creepy in shades of grey :)
I got Netflix back for 3 Body Problem, but this was waaaaaay better. Glad i watched it.
