Comparing the breathless reporting of Tom Yannis on NBC last night and the calm, direct William Brangham on PBS tonight, it's obvious that NBC has conceded its historical role as a serious news reporter and is happy to be just "entertainment." Disappointing. What are Chet Huntley and David Brinkley thinking? Not to mention John Cameron Swayze.
