I believe that this movie will be a Christmas Classic. The themes throughout are poignant as Paul Giamatti reenacts Ebenezer Scrooge in an academic setting. His character (Paul Hunham) learns a valuable life lesson from one of his students, and Hunham ultimately makes a significant sacrifice to protect the student he initially detested. An interesting father-son dynamic develops and underlies the Christmas theme. Excellent, convincing acting highlights the triangular relationship between Giamatti, Sessa and Randolph.
