So, so good to see Ted Koppel on the air on CBS News Sunday Morning, this Sep 8, 2024! I have missed his unbiased and trustworthy reporting and the time spent listening to him on the then NightLine. That was important journalism that I believe we now lack. This broadcast this morning looks at many sides of this election, giving varied perspectives that allow listeners to draw their OWN conclusions. David Pogue's segment on the economy was great. People just don't look at the real picture when examining the economy. The pandemic created an increase in grocery prices due to "supply chain issues" that have never adjusted downward to realistic levels because why would the grocers give up that inflated profit? Folks need to look at the net earnings reported for these companies; that tells the real story. I just paid $2.42/gal for gas; cheap. I don't invest, but I see the booming stock market. My meds are reasonable, thank God, due to my blessed insurance. My housing is ridiculous, but a reset is developing nationwide on that.
Kaleefa Sanneh's flag segment was moving, concluding with a brilliant Mark Twain quote about patriotism.
The Martha Teichner segment re: immigration was informational and balanced, but cautionary.
Lee Cowan's abortion segment was sadly disturbing, perhaps slightly encouraging.
Your "fake news/AI" segment needs to be reviewed by all who seek truth. If one sees a questionable image, don't just buy into it wholeheartedly as fact, QUESTION IT! Check the source, check for other sources.
FACTS MATTER!
WHERE ARE YOU, MR. KOPPEL?! We need your factual style now more than ever before. It was good to see you.
