The film was good however, they missed the key part regarding poetry, not enough about how hard the child’s life was. The lead girl was not dressed as I imagined. If you took the film separately to the book, it was quite good and a lot of good acting, but I personally think this would have been better as a mini series, to capture all the relevance of the subject matter in the book. I wouldn’t watch the film again but would definitely listen to the book again, the deprivation, and the purity, how the marsh girl was part of nature and the marsh did not come through.
