As a thriller, it kind of works. If you’re in for Huppert’s performance as a psychopath, it kind of works. For Chloe’s too, she’s a promising actress.
However... I didn’t enjoy this movie.
Only one strong female character, the blonde friend Erika.
Frances is too often asking for help and delving into her emotional ‘weakness’ (in itself, I already disliked the idea that being in your emotions was a weakness!).
If the deep down message is to raise awareness about how mad and sick humans can become when drowned in loneliness, this doesn’t work.. For the fear of one human is enough to drive you to loneliness for the rest of your life!
Slightly boring, I stayed until the end though.. just for some acting performances.
