The writing and direction of RoP is very poorly done. I’ve watched the entirety of Season 1. The laughable dialogue makes the show feel like an overdramatized sitcom instead of epic saga. The writers use a mix of predictable, overly-dramatic, and unnecessary plot developments which don’t actually progress the story or character arcs forward in any positive way. You could watch through the first 5 episodes and honestly feel like nothing happened. The action sequences feel massively choreographed and lifeless; there is never a moment when you worry characters are actually in danger, and 9 times out of 10 you can predict exactly how a conflict will resolve. It’s very hard to care about the characters in this show or feel immersed in what could be a good story. I would pass on this one if you’re a fan of LOTR or a fan of good television.
