Im not even normally a fan of music by this artist not that shes not talented but it just hasnt resonated like this in the past
This is her best album by far in my opinion and will eventually make her get the recognition she deserves
Here is a list of my favorites and why:
Eat the Acid: the track sounds like shes describing her younger years when her career first began and tells a story of a girl who was advised by her mom to not go down this path though she felt like an outcast and like she was always looking for direction in life and she found that in drugs which is very heartbreaking because she states "you dont want to be changed like it changed me" as in she doesnt like who she became because of it and the audio from the song is made to resemble her experience with the drug and how its slowly warping her perception of the world
Peace and quiet: I love this because its taking about being a confrontational person and how if you dont acknowledge problems appropriately then she will become more upset and she is having the internal debate of staying or leaving it just perfectly fits the emotion
Happy: what a beautiful song this is in its entirety it captures life in a way not most can asking all the what ifs an overthinker considers and wishing life could have been different for her younger self and how at that age she wanted everything she now has but instead now she just wants to be happy and thats just an amazing message for everyone on top of the trauma she confronts within the lines
Too Far Gone: This song reveals her struggle with the uncertainty of her position in someones life and how she is unsure if she is chasing them because she lacks their love or whether its the love from within herself its an honest representation of how she believes love to be in that moment and its not portraying her in only a positive light either
Living In My Head: this song is purely about overthinking and all the feelings that it brings such as insecurity, anger, fear, etc
All I Need Is You: a short lived love and how shes still caring for that person and she doesnt care that she can do what she wants now because it doesnt matter if the people around dont care if she's actually safe which is a very lonely image to depict
Then my absolute favorite the first track I heard from the album due to its title
Hate Me Harder: this song is giving me chills as I write this and I took the time to read twn reviews and remembered I needed to include it on this list!!! This is about her struggle with her fame and how people perceive her based off her younger persona but other artists like miley cyrus have struggled with this as well and overcame the medias comments kesha deserves to as well she has clearly grown so much its impressive how much she strives to do her very best to let everyone know she doesnt wish any bad for anyone and to continue if it helps them which is so selfless
This album all in all is unarguably art regardless of who you are there is something you can take from it so do yourself a favor and listen to the words there is more to this than meets the eye especially on her specific situation but plenty that could apply to almost anyone struggling with anything
