If you like HEAVY spice this is it. It’s got everything I look forward to in a fantasy book - vampires, werewolves, fae, immortals, mortals THE LOT. The plot is driven by games and riddles which I prefer over warring kingdoms. There’s such a playful but dangerous element I was quite literally gnawing on my fingers in some scenes. Magic tends to be plot armour for a lot of fantasy books and makes me not care about the outcome of certain battles but I found myself being fully invested the whole way through. Love that the fmc has a backbone and can hold her own. She doesn’t immediately melt at the feet of the MMC which I found refreshing. Fell in love with the MMC too bit of a red flag but it’s a HEA that’s all I have to say… Easily the best book I’ve read.
