This book is so incredibly gripping, full of joy but incredibly tragic. This book is set the 18th century in France. A young 15 year old girl called Annie boards a ship to sail to a new life in Java with her parents. Annie, eventually finds a growing friendship between her and a young midshipman, called Francios. This story is touching with a heartbreaking ending. This story really touched my heart and showed how strong of an impact people can have on each other. This book is full of ups and downs, there are happy moments and moments when you are on the brink of crying. If enjoy a touching book, then this is the book for you.
