After reading all of these 1 star reviews that scathingly talk about how this movie did not illustrate how a woman might come into her own power/agency through a series of bizarre sexual exploits might need to remember that this is FICTION. It is a story told through someone's lens (the writer and the director, the cast) which may or may not gel with what you see as female agency. I personally loved this film. I found it inspiring. I also happened to take my 86 year old mother and 72 year old aunt to the film, not realizing the very pointed message would be told the way it was. They both did not like the film, mostly due to the fact that they don't believe in female agency beyond being educated and working as a professional. They could not understand the message. I, on the other hand, both understood and welcomed it.
