I'm a huge fan of the Jack Reacher series and I've re-read them all numerous times, infact it's rare that I've not got one on the go. Reading Jack is comfortable, familiar and an opportunity for sheer escape! Everytime you re-read a Reacher you see something new in the story. I really struggled through the Sentinel and gave it the benefit of the doubt as a first joint venture between the Childs' that needed a bit more time to develop. It's taken a long time to pluck up courage to try Better Off Dead, for fear of disappointment. After reading 100 pages I don't think I can finish this this book. Dull, ridiculous plot, boring description, flat characters, faceless town, thugs lining up on turn to be attacked....gutted that Jack has ended up like this, I'm in mourning ☹️
