I hate this book. I couldn’t finish it because it was so terrible. The writing style was so beyond simple I could feel myself reverting back to 2nd grade. The plot? Was there one? Could not tell you. Whoever approved of lightning sex should be checked for a psych eval. Violet was the combination of about 6 other fantasy/dystopian fmcs. Did she have a personality? Again, could not tell you. I am very upset I wasted a day reading this trash and I am also upset with all the people who recommended me this book. The “plot twist” at the end could have been predicted by a WW1 veteran who was suffering from shell shock. Xaden gave me the ick. This book read like it was generated by AI, now I’m not saying that that’s true, it just seemed like it. There was next to nothing in terms of originality or engaging diction. The only cool part about this book was that Violet had a super rare disorder which did provide a little depth and strength to her character, but if the most interesting thing about your main character is her disorder, then you’re doing something wrong. If I could give it 0 stars, I would.
