I have never seen the previous movies in the franchise, so I went into this one completely blind. I thought it was nothing special. Even though I have not seen the previous movies in the franchise, I feel like I have seen this exact movie 100 times.
Let me sum up the whole movie for you (this is not really a spoiler because its how every movie of this genre tends to go): Couple is hunted down by masked people and scared for their lives and make god awful survival decisions at every turn, cowering in the corners of rooms without even looking for a weapon for the first half of the movie, and swinging doors wide open without even looking out the peephole. whilst running away, they trip over tree stumps constantly and look back as they run (or run directly back into the house).
Sound familiar? Any person who has ever seen a horror/slasher would probably agree. I just wish there were at least some unique plot points. Only gave it 2 stars because the lead female actor was decent. Other than that, really no redeeming qualities for me.
