Whilst I understand that a totally linear adaptation of any source material is not always desired I fail to see why the writers have changed the story so drastically. Like many others who have seen the previous adaptations I was hopeful this would be as close as possible to the original story. However it seems that the writers / BBC have decided that why settle for a great story, adapt within reason and have pissed all over it. Why settle for a minor issue when you can have a calamity instead. Dull, slow and characters that were unnecessary and effects occasionally very ropey. Disappointing to say the least!
