Like many others, I was eager to read ‘The this book after enjoying the Pilgrim. The book began promisingly, but about a quarter of the way through, it took an unexpected turn. The narrative shifted to a submarine exercise that appeared to lack research and authenticity regarding submarine operations. Despite re-reading sections multiple times, I struggled to grasp what wea supposed to be going on. The plot then further deviated, introducing concepts of off-earth mining and extraterrestrial life, which felt was disjointed from the initial setup. Ultimately, this led me to discontinue reading and put the book away.
