Well researched, perhaps too much researched details that was overwhelming at some chapters but the plot is intriguing although the ending is justified but not fulfilling. Fine crafting of storyline but the characters are paper thin, they are built up as multidimensional and have their own unique charms and yet at the resolution, they didn't become more into being, or maybe that's one of the point of the story. This is intriguing, and if you are a lover of historical fiction, this is perfect. If you are a rationalist, don't bother. This is historical fiction for that reason.

Ramona is poor but so rich in perspective, I just love every bits of it I dont think I will forget this story for so long. It talked about how complex one heart can be, and the author just lay down life's lessons in perfect pacing, there's a lot going on but not too much Its that good, it managed to make me rethink about how Im going about on my own life without being dramatic. I love every character, they're all palpable, alive and feels so vividly real. Anecdotes were fitted precisely in every phrase without losing the sensibility to moral issues and lessons. Recommending this book to my future daughter
