The original Moosewood cookbook is a charming collection of vegetarian recipes. The illustrations, mostly line drawings, are super redolent of the 70s hippie movement, back to nature and au natural. The recipes do seem to use butter and dairy more than I do, but perhaps olive oil could be substituted. I admit I havent tried a lot of the recipes, but they sound delicious and wholesome. There are later editions of this cookbook too one which I have, and it seems to reflect a lower fat conciousness. There is an African stew recipe in it that is great. Lots of bean recipes. Worth picking up if you find any version.
