I love Beetlejuice. So much so that I have three Beetlejuice tattoos. I love Tim Burton and have always been a major fan of his stuff. However, Beetlejuice 2 was a HUGE let down. I chuckled maybe three times. There were a lot of stories within the movie, you never had a chance to really bond with any of the characters, there was never really a plot twist, and when they attempted to tie all of the stories together at the end - it flopped. I was expecting the same lore from most of Tim Burton’s films and did not get that. They mentioned the Maitland’s for 3 seconds and that was it, which felt strange to me as well. All in all, I was very disappointed and would not pay to see this movie again, especially if you loved the first Beetlejuice.
