This movie is fun. I have no connection to the video games and went into this with zero expectations. Cate Blanchette seemed like a surprising sci-fi action star, but she pulls it off with gusto. The movie is at its best when it keeps the pace fast and focused on the action. Heart-felt moments felt unearned and slowed things down too much. Overall, though, it was an imaginative, colorful, fun story.
