Pretty lousy on the whole. The writing is fine but the drama is so trivial that it can only have come from an academic. A story of a woman afraid to live, yet half the novel later the twists and turns are so inconsequential that I will be unable to see how it resolved. Mundanity can be written really well, absorbing and beautiful. This isn't.
